If there is a guest looking at this, please go to Purrs and Meows and then to Nothing.

Hello, I know im not a member here so it's okay if you don't answer, but I've just started working on graphix and the one thing I can't seem to do, Is select the cat out of the picture to put him on a different background. I have the program called GIMP, if you haven't heard of it it's almost exactly like photoshop. Could you give me any advice? I've tried erasing the background and zooming in to get as close as I can but it gives the cat's fur a "cut-off" look. I've also tried free select and Select contiguous regions. Nothing has really worked quite the way I've wanted it to.
Thanks for your time, >.:*:.Fireshadow.:*:.<
